Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide tablets) dose schedule from the U.S. prescribing information. The Wegovy pill, approved by the FDA in December 2025, is a once-daily tablet for adults to lose excess weight and keep it off, and to lower the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults with heart disease and obesity or overweight. The dose steps up every 30 days: 1.5 mg for days 1 to 30, 4 mg for days 31 to 60, 9 mg for days 61 to 90, and the 25 mg maintenance dose from day 91. Take it each morning on an empty stomach with up to 4 oz of plain water and wait 30 minutes before eating, drinking or taking other pills. A missed dose is skipped. If 25 mg is not tolerated, the label suggests considering Wegovy injection 1.7 mg weekly. In the 64-week trial, adults on 25 mg lost 13.6% of body weight on average versus 2.4% on placebo.
