Saxenda Dose Schedule

The Saxenda (liraglutide) dose schedule: a daily injection starting at 0.6 mg, rising 0.6 mg each week to the 3 mg dose in week 5. Missed doses explained.

Saxenda (liraglutide 3 mg) dose schedule from the U.S. prescribing information. Saxenda is a once-daily injection for weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with a weight-related condition, and in adolescents 12 and older with obesity who weigh more than 60 kg. The dose starts at 0.6 mg daily in week 1 and increases by 0.6 mg each week: 1.2 mg, 1.8 mg, 2.4 mg, reaching the 3 mg maintenance dose from week 5. A step can be delayed by about a week if not tolerated. Adults who cannot tolerate 3 mg should stop; adolescents may reduce to 2.4 mg. The label says adults who have not lost at least 4% of starting weight after 16 weeks are unlikely to benefit. A missed dose is not made up; if more than 3 days pass, restart at 0.6 mg. GLPeak logs each daily injection with its site and every dose change.
